Race the Ras

Race the Ras Charity Cycle

Two Tir Chonaill GAP CC members, John Boyle and Micheal Brennan, are taking part in a charity cycle to fund-raise for Aware and The NBCRI.

Race The Rás is fund-raising organisation set up in 2011 to specifically raise money by encouraging ‘ordinary cyclists’ to take the route that the professionals take for the An Post Rás every May – and to do it on the SAME DAY!  The Ras (Irish for race) is a gruelling, professional cycling event which is run across 800 miles of Irish roads and mountains over 8 days. Given that the Tour de France is around 2000 miles over 20 days, this challenge is a huge one!

Taking part with these cyclists will be numerous GAA Legends from all over the country who will test themselves to the limits of endurance in an effort to raise money for charity.

Ultimately, the goal is to raise money for our 2 nominated charities – The National Breast Cancer Research Institute (NBCRI) and AWARE –  this is the challenge of a lifetime with a little madness thrown in.

Any Donations greatly appreciated:

Micheal & John.
